What words best describe the love of Jesus? Hymns sung in Lent give a variety of descriptive expressions including “wondrous love,” “unswerving love,” “bleeding love,” and “love so amazing.” A descriptive word used often in Scripture to modify the word “love” is the old English word “steadfast.” The love of Jesus is steadfast. It is a love that will not let us go. It is a love that remembers us—remembering our weakness and knowing our needs. It is “love unknown”—which means “beyond our ability to understand it.” It is “wondrous love” indeed! Join us for our last Mid-Week Lenten service on April 10 at 7:00 PM. Our last Pre-Service Lenten Supper will be held from 6:00-6:45 PM this evening. The sixth supper will be a fundraiser for the Adult Choir. A grilled hot dogs and chips meal planned for April 10. Thank you to everyone who attended and donated to each of the meals.
A few pictures from today's Easter egg hunt at Christ Lutheran. Rain last night made it too muddy to have it ouside so we moved the fun indoors! We also had trouble getting the big griddle to go so out came the frying pans for pancakes! Still, the kids has a great time and were excited about the goodies they found in eggs! Thanks to everyone who helped out by donating supplies, putting together eggs, hiding eggs, making pancakes, and anything else to make this a successful event.

”Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” These are simple words, but words that are filled with meaning for us, especially in this Lenten season. They are a plea, a prayer, and an affirmation. We ask that Jesus would remember us—not our sins—but ourselves. We pray that His remembering us and not remembering our sins will have an eternal benefit for us. And we affirm that His mercy and faithfulness is the source of our salvation. God is for us in all seasons! Join us for our next Mid-Week Lenten service on April 3 at 7:00 PM. Pre-service Lenten suppers held from 6:00-6:45 PM are planned for our Mid-Week Lenten services on April 3 and 10. The fifth supper will be a fundraiser for the 150th Anniversary Committee. The decisions of other people shape how we will express our faith in the service. The choice of what hymns will be sung, what lessons will be read, and what prayers will be spoken have been made by other people. But those choices will be a blessing for us. Even more important, the choice that God has made for us and about us is the greatest of blessings. His covenant choice is to grant us spiritual blessings in Christ both here on earth in time and for eternity. Thank God for the choices He has made! MID-WEEK LENTEN SERVICE The dictionary lists a number of words that are related to penitence, which is central to our Lenten experience. Contrition, compunction, remorse, regret—all of those words convey a sense of sorrow over having sinned or done wrong. But for penitence to be complete, there is evidence of change that God’s forgiveness has brought about. Jesus would often tell those He forgave, “Go and sin no more.” May we, too, remember Jesus’ words, striving to live according to our faith in Him. Join us for our Mid-Week Lenten service on March 20 at 7:00 PM. Mid-Week Lenten services will be held each Wednesday during the season of Lent (March 27, and April 3 and 10) at 7:00 PM.
